JACK Cleveland Casino and JACK Thistledown Racino are the first businesses to apply for Type-A Gaming Proprietor licenses during Ohio’s second week of sports gambling applications.
The Cleveland casino was named as the Management Service Provider (MSP) for Thistledown on the Type-B licensing applications submitted for the two JACK facilities. As a result, JACK Cleveland Casino also applied for an MSP license, making it the second MSP application submitted to the state after BetMGM’s request last week.
The first two sportsbook operators to apply for a Mobile Management Service Provider license were BetMGM Ohio and PointsBet OH last week.
The Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) declared a universal start date for Ohio sports betting at January 1, 2023 on June 1. The state was clear about the license dates as well as the launch schedule for sports betting.
Different Ohio License Types
Applications for sports betting licenses are being accepted by the Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) from Type A, B, and C owners as well as newly designated Mobile Management Service Providers (MMSPs), Management Service Providers (MSPs), and suppliers.
Till July 15, the window will remain open. Friday afternoons saw the announcement of new applications.
Mobile gaming and professional sports are the exclusive domains of Type A licenses. The state’s current casinos and racinos, which saw a drop in income from April to last month, are eligible to apply for new licenses.
Amounts of Type B licenses will be given to physical sportsbook locations.
Self-service terminal owners with D-class liquor licenses will receive Type C licenses. The proprietors are the businesses that provide the betting terminals and manage the wagering. The locations that house the betting terminals are the hosts.
From July 15 through August 15, Type C sports gaming hosts and second authorized MMSPs may submit their applications.

Bet crediting app with BetJACK
BetJACK Ohio released a bet credit app in April that allowed sports fans to try betting without investing any money in an effort to get Ohioans in the habit of betting with JACK.
The free software was developed by JACK Entertainment, the company behind JACK Cleveland Casino and JACK Thistledown Racino, to mimic the appearance and feel of a real money sportsbook.
Regarding DraftKings, the operator may collaborate with several physical sites in Ohio.
2019, DraftKings announced an access partnership with Penn National Gaming, which operates the Hollywood Casinos in Dayton, Toledo, Mahoning Valley, and Columbus.
