Think back a few months to February 2022 and the Cincinnati Bengals came within a few points of winning the most coveted trophy in the NFL.
Despite not winning Super Bowl LVI at the SoFi Stadium that day, it just showed how far the Bengals had come in a few short years. The franchise was certainly hitting new heights, thanks in large party to Joe Borrow, reaching the Super Bowl for the first time since 1998.
After being last seasons surprise package, the Bengals have had a rough start to the 2022 season.
First came the 3 point opening game loss to neighbouring state rivals, the Pittsburg Steelers. This was followed by an equally tight loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

This double whammy of tight losses has already impacted on the odds of the Bengals making the playoffs.
In addition, any bets on them reaching the Super Bowl have also been dramatically reduced after 2 losses on the bounce this season.
Most fans will now be weary of backing the Bengals after such a poor start to the season. Dropping the first two games sure cranks up the pressure on their demanding end of season schedule.
Their final six game run pits them against the Chiefs, Browns, Buccaneers, Patriots, Bills, and Ravens in turn. Not an easy task in anyone’s playbook.
The Bengals 0-2 start to the season has made reaching their win total even tougher.
The Bengals playoff chances are rated at 41.7% as they head into Week 3 of their 2022 campaign.

Bengals vs Jets – Week 3 Preview
The Cincinnati Bengals square off against the Joe Flacco-led New York Jets on Sunday 2 October. The Week 3 clash gives a chance for the Bengals to end their losing streak and turn things around.
That said, the ‘Flaxter’ looked on fire his Week 2 game and could prove to be a real threat to the Bengals. Will he overshadow Joe Burrow in this one?
On current form the Jets have the edge in the run game, with 20 carries in their game last week providing a little X-factor when needed.
Pass protection has also proved elusive for the Bengals so far this season adding to their woes. That said, Burrow might get a little more time this week against a less formidable defence.
If they can get some more protection on their own passes too, then the Bengals could lad their first win of the new season.
